Manley wear caps are ideal for applications where valve tip protection is required, but the valve itself does not have a hardened tip surface. Wear caps are typically used with titanium valve applications. They are manufactured from 4140 alloy steel bar stock to very tight tolerances so that the fitment to the valve is accurate and precise. A special heat treatment is performed to achieve and insure the proper, elevated hardness required to prevent erosion.
